July 15 - International Men´s Day
Why not commemorate this day?
No one has doubts about International Women’s Day: March 8, when 130 women were killed in a strike in New York, in 1857. This day is commemorated throughout the world, to call for equal rights for women, placing light on these beautiful and increasingly powerful creatures.
But what about men? When is their day? Since no date is related to a special event for male liberation, July 15th was established as a special day for them.
Don’t ask for why or for whom this date was chosen. No one knows.
Men have a difficult time remembering commemorative dates. This is a source of conflict with the opposite sex. Perhaps, for this reason, they are also forgotten. Mother’s Day causes quite a stir. No one goes home to mom without a present. But do Dad’s get as many gifts? Not according to store owners. Sales on Father’s Day are much lower than on Mother’s Day. I believe this is not a good, because a forgotten man becomes weak and despondent. He feels unimportant.
Women complain that men today don’t take initiative, don’t make commitments, are not aggressive. If a man is not bashful and timid he’s an ogre, treating women as objects. A man must have self-esteem, believe in himself.
The new man knows how to care for himself and also know how to treat a woman. Forget that macho image, strength and power come from dignity. This is the man that the world needs. This is the man that women want. This is the man who should be celebrated on July 15.
