This is not any bicycle. It is a limited edition handmade (custom made!) bike which takes a week to be ready, counts with the hard work of six engineers and costs nothing less than £27,000.

The Factor 001, as it is called, is produced by Beru F1 Systems, specialized in high technology components for F1 cars. Its composition is a proof of the inspiration on the F1 cars. The bike has its chassis and brakes made of carbon fiber – which makes it much lighter than the regular aluminium bikes. Besides, it has an on-board computer which certainly leaves us all stunned - it’s composed by more than 100 different items in its telemetry system!

The sensors, for instance, register several physical and biometrical variables, such as the skin temperature during the exercise, the distance travelled, the amount of energy spent, the relative humidity and the level of the atmospheric pressure. As if those weren`t enough, all the data is recorded and can later be downloaded to your computer so you can analyse it after you cycle.

Because it is custom made, the rider who decides to buy one of these will have its chassis developed according to his/her height and arms` length, making it much more comfortable to ride. The original bike is just like the one in the picture, it comes in white. But the future owner, of course, has the power to chance that, too.
