We love beer! And it was a special moment when we discovered it can be good for our health too, besides the pleasure we feel every time we sip it. Beer is part of the male diet since long ago and is considered healthy if consumed moderately and regularly – not more than two cans a day.

Some people believe the drink has no class whatsoever. But they’re wrong. Besides the regular beer, there are some that are quite tasty and expensive, like the fruity Belgian ones, and the stronger English ones - not only good for drinking, but also are good for our health. Its components come from malted cereals like oxidants and vitamins. The production is done from cereals like malted barley, hops, wheat, rice or corn, which help in a controlled diet.

The famous drink is composed of 93% of water and a great option for thirst. The yeast naturally protects the organism against radiation and pollution, and it is also one of the best sources of the complex B, very important for the digestive and the nervous systems. The lack of complex B may cause depression, lacks of memory and concentration, tiredness and stress.

We know that that is more than enough to convince you, but we got to say that a liter of beer has like 20% of the fiber recommended daily. The stronger ones might offer up to 60% of the recommended daily intake. Needless to say, drinking beer helps with the digestion and absorption of food and reduces the cholesterol levels.

Vitamins
Vitamins like the thiamine, riboflavin and pyridoxine are some of the substances present in a pint of beer. Some of those are good helpers when it comes to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. A pint of your favorite beer has twice as much antioxidant of a glass of wine. Some of them, like the hops flavonoids, can prevent cancer.

Beer also contains vitamin B6 which is needed to make hemoglobin, the red coloring in blood. This carries oxygen around the body. It also helps maintain correct blood sugar levels.

But watch out! If drunk in large quantities, you might observe a certain belly growth, due to the distention of the abdominal muscles. It might also cause obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. So take it easy!

The truth is: drinking beer is not fattening, unless you exaggerate. The consumption, if moderate, is a sign of good health. It is fat free, aids restful sleep and promotes relaxation. Like all good things, beer should be consumed responsibly.
